Future Systems for Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods and Building
The corporate divisions Consumer Goods and Building Technology produce power tools, thermotechnology, household appliances and security systems. To strengthen our innovative drive in this field, Corporate Research launched its own research division in 2005. It focuses on pooling the know-how spread across the entire corporation.
In recent years, gas-fired condensing boiler technology has become the standard in heating systems for buildings. The high efficiency of this system results from drastic cooling of the exhaust gases. The water vapor that’s generated during combustion is condensed in heat exchangers. The liberated energy is returned to the heating cycle. Researchers at Bosch are investigating the condensation with different equipment geometries and by varying the materials in the involved surfaces. Additional objectives include the creation of extremely compact and robust heating devices that meet the requirements of builders and installers.
